did anything scary happen to you on friday the 13th? I had a blowout in the left hand lane of mopac, which caused my car to be thrown into the barrier. The barrier was made out of metal wire which tore off my front left tire and destroyed the front part of my car. Dragging my tire across a highway with cuts all over my arms was not too fun either. I was finally able to get home at 4 in the morning. I think things will be ok, for now i'm going to bike to work since it's so close. Everything else in my life has been extremely wonderful. I left that shitty company called Apple (basically dell at this point) and got a job at buildasign.com. Everyone there is extremely cool and I know that it's where I want to stay. I also joined a band! We don't have a name yet, but we're three queer vegetarian (they're vegan) virgos that are out to rock your mother. For the first time in my life I truly believe in myself and feel as if I am finally in control of my life. :)

Hey guys, it's finally happening, I'm turning 21! I'd love to see you at my birthday party, and bring as many people as you'd like. I'm planning on getting some kegs, but if you're looking for liquor, you should bring it....
Also...thank you to my kind friends who are letting me throw this party at their house. I ask that everyone help keep it clean. They have reserved the right to kick out any undesired guests, so if you have a friend that you expect to get out of hand, please don't bring them. Thanks...I'll see you all on Saturday!!!!

So I'm back from Coachella and want more than anything to go back. I can't believe it's over. I can't believe I was there.
We got to our campsite on Thursday afternoon, set up camp, and walked along the salton sea
 .
Friday was our free day so we made breakfast tacos (mmmmm soyriso), met up with Andriana and Suzanne from last year and then we...got drunk! 
A mecca beach local informed us that at night the plankton glow if they're disturbed. Supposedly the salton sea was formed by a river that was diverted causing the water to be trapped. This water is very shallow, stagnant, salty, and smelly. After seeing a boy from New Zealand get in the water I decided to dive in. I was told it was visually stimulating but for me it was very very salty
 .
Saturday we left for the show around noon and saw hybrid, the walkmen
 ,

 ,
wolf mother
, tv on the radio (they've gotten so much better sine that last time I saw them with the faint)
 , sigur ros, and damian marley.. At this time dina and I took our mushrooms. I tell dina "let's go see cat power", as if it was a reasonable action we could both perform.
Into Cat Power's 2nd song we both have to sit down as the fungus is taking over. We both got lost from our other friends so I got the brilliant idea to find them. Dina was schrooming pretty hard so it must have been horrible being dragged through thousands of people to try and find our friends. Eventually we find them in time for depeche mode. We watched the band from afar and I got to see them play my favorite song, stripped. We all then head over to watch Daft Punk. Ramsie handed each of us glowsticks to party down with. This show kicked my ass hard. I've never seen a show so amazing before.
The light show alone made me flip out. Not knowing what to do with my glowstick I decided to swing it in the air...eventually hitting a guy in the face. After apologizing and feeling really awkward I stood there with my head hung low squeezing my glowstick over and over until it eventually burst. I was so embarassed I asked Dina to walk with me outside of the tent so I could get away from everyone and throw my glowstick away. It was really nice of her to do that for me :)
Day 2
After waking up from a very long day we all head to the show around noon. We first went to see The Dears, then Amadou & Mariam
 ,
Sleater-Kinney
 ,
The Yeah Yeah Yeahs
, Massive Attack
 , and finally Tool.
When Liz Fraser from the Cocteau twins came out with Massive Attack I nearly shit myself, and the way Robert Del Naja sings is sooo incredibly sexy. Tool kicked ass. I was hoping they would play more from opiate and undertow but their set consisted mostly of hits and two songs off of the new album.
Each year I come back to Austin feeling like a new man. Feeling inspired. It made me forget about all the crap I left behind.
Now it's time to make the best of this year.
